First Ramadhan away from family.

Assalamualaikum and Hi... Greetings from INTEC.

Tomorrow will start my first Ramadan away from my family. I don't know why but after going home for one day last two week, I'm getting more homesick. Don't know how I'll be when in Korea. I try to call my parents every single day. Is that too much?.. hehe... The moment I end my call, I'm getting more homesick. Hmm.... now there is more assignment that's need to be done. Don't mention the tests. I guess this is college life. Hope someone will give me some tips to overcome my homesickness.

So, alhamdulillah, tomorrow will be tthe 1st day of Ramadhan. I'm not a perfect Muslim but I will always try to be one and advice my people to be one and I hope people will do so to me too. There's always room for improvement to increase my iman to Allah SWT.

So, remainder to myself and all in this beautiful month. During fasting, make sure to left out the useless stuff we always do in the past. Rather than spending our time chatting, sleeping, watching Kpop (I'm a Kpop fan myself), we could always spend the time with zikir, reading Al-Quran or even hearing people reciting Al-Quran. Try our hardest to khatam Al-Quran during this wonderful month. Here a schedule I had from Twitter that can help us khatam Al-Quran.

Hope this help. And as a woman, we had our time when we are not allowed to read Al-Quran, so, made early calculation to read more pages when we can.

Solat terawih only presence during Ramadhan and it's only happens 1 month every year so please make time to do 8 rakaat of Solat Terawih or go to the mosque to Solat jemaah as frequent as possible. Even if you had to much homework or work, if you make time for Allah SWT, Allah SWT will make time for you too to finish your work.

That's it. Please add comment if I am wrong with some fact or anything. Or if you have an advice to a better me and you during this Ramadhan and forever. Have a great Ramadan. InsyaAllah. Assalamualaikum.

Besut-ian in INTEC

Assalamualaikum and Hi.

I love being from Besut. For those who don't know, Besut is at Terengganu. But, the uniqueness of Besut is it is located at borderline of Terengganu and Kelantan. Our dialect, of course a mix of both. Some words are from Terengganu but in a slang of Kelantanese. Among ourselves, we said we talk in a Besut dialect and we are proud of it. Football? I would say that I support both T-Team and Red Warrior. I know that all Besut people are like that. But when T-Team and TRW went in head-to-head in a match, I give my support to Terengganu (because, if we win, we may get a day off school.. hehe). Next, I would say Besut people are very welcoming. At school, we received some student from KL with open hands. We teaches them to speak Besut and how to live here. However, I want to appeal my dissatisfaction about the Terengganu districts ignoring Besut. We are called 'di anak tiri'. It happens all the time. For example, during a state competition, Besut, unwillingly had disadvantage of picking the last number or not receiving any claps. Well, we know that we speak in a Kelantan dialect but we still a part of Terengganu. But, we, Besut-ian redha with all of that.

So, what is it life as a Besut-ian in INTEC, home of hundreds of intelligent students from all over Malaysia? Take note that I telling this story in perspective of a rookie student.

Well, I am very prepared coming here in every aspect but one aspect that I forgot is my dialect. I forgot that here, people speaks KL. So, there was me struggling to speak KL. I would say that my Kelantan dialect is extinguishable(for now). Every time I had a conversation at the MDS, people would had a tiny laugh and asks, "Are you from Kelantan?". And I was like, "Maybe... but I'm from Terengganu... besut to be exact... We do speak a bit kelantan dialect". What a long answer for a simple question. Besides, I'm a bit suprised that most of people's conversation is in English!!! I thought we are still in Malaysia. But I don't blame them because they need to practice since they are going to fly to US in two more long years. Hehehe. But I'm okay with that since I was not too bad in English after all.

Making friends is what I'm struggling right now. I shouldn't be worry since I've only been here for a week but my family and friends back home is very worried for me. They said, don't walk alone. Ask a friend to accompany you. What friend?!?! I don't have any... yet. I hope I'll make plenty for the time being. Please take care of me, new friends. 😇😇

"If you want to go to shopping mall, you can take the KTM", said the PM.
"Oooo", said my groupmates.
And I was, (in my mind) "What the heck is KTM?".
And I went home to search 'K.T.M' and finally find out it's a train. Well, we surely don't have a KTM in Besut. So, I was hoping to find a friend and went to KL with her in a KTM.

Hu... A month after writing the above words actually.. today is actually 16 June already.... I forgot to post it since my data usage ends months ago... huhu... well, to sad to delete my memories so here is this...

First Week At INTEC

Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone.

I had my very first college entrance last Monday. I enrolled in INTEC for 9 months for Look East Policy- Korean Programme under JPA Scholarship. As soon as I gets my room keys, I realised that my choice to accept this scholarship is spot on. I met my school friend and a Terengganu SBP's student who also in the same programme as mine during the registration. Unfortunately, we all got different apartment(Kolej kediaman). More unfortunately, I got the one at the forth floor. 7 flight of stairs! Maybe this is good for me since I got a lose a bit (much more) of weight. I met my roommates who are from Shah Alam, Johor and Perlis. Wow, 4 dialect in one house. This is going to be chaotic. Well, not actually. Apparently, they (and I) are all quiet. I hope that time will kill all the awkwardness.

About my MDS (Minggu Destinies Siswa (Orientation) ), I was grouped with the best people and the best two PMs (Pemimpin Mahasiswa). Apparently, we are the only group who named our group and did a cheer no matter we go. On our last MDS day, our lovely PMs treat us to a dinner.

Last Friday,  I got my class and the schedule. I was put in Gwangju class along with one of my groupmate. We will start the class this Monday. So excited.

I'm going to let out a few words about someone here if you don't mind. I don't care if you mind cause I'm doing it. So, although my PM is very cool, I am disappointed that she didn't know my name. Well, I know I'm not that pretty but I am someone who stands by my belief. And I think someone who cannot remember his students/groupmates/etc cannot be a leader. Seriously, a leader needs to know who they are leading. Next, my sweet, sweet, old friend, have you forgotten all the 5 years we've been through together. 5 years. 2 days here and you are ignoring me. I know you already found your cool friends and I don't. It doesn't mean I'm worthless. And I still remembered when I had my downs in my school results and you wouldn't talk to me and as soon as I passed above you in the school rankings, you slowly followed behind me. Wow, what an awful character you have. Change dear. Change isn't that awful than what you are right now.

Sorry for letting out my feelings here. It's an reminder for those you entering college and all. Don't forget your old friends. Bye.

Happy Saturday

Assalamualaikum and Hi.

It's 2 days to my college entrance. So nervous. I am going to INTEC Shah Alam this Monday. Going to Kuala Lumpur first tomorrow and hopefully going to do some shopping. Regretfully, my sis is not coming because she had school. TT. Alhamdulillah, I got to spend the day with her today with some Secret Recipe and Cool Blog.

We did a small Majlis Kesyukuran yesterday and I am great full for all the elders (teachers, uncles and aunts) who wishes me good luck and eventually gave me some pocket money. I prayed the best for all of them.

BTW,  I going to pursue my studies in Look East Policy-Korean Programme under JPA Scholarship. Still not sure whether I going to spend 9 months or 21 months in INTEC. Hopefully it's 9 months. InsyaAllah.

Well, that's all for today. InsyaAllah, I will share my first post as college student this Monday. Assalamualaikum.

Simple Interview Tips

Tips for interview?
I am not in debate or any speaking competition. I am one of those who kept quiet in class and just nods. I am the one who think first before talking and clearly doesn't talk the way  I think ( I got this brilliant ideas in my mind but when I talk, the ideas just dissappear). The thing I good at is delivering my ideas in a group for a presentation and having creative ideas for the presentation. All in all, I am super satisfied in my presentation ever since I was in primary school.

Tips for my scholarship interview.
1) Just smile.
2) If you don't deliver ideas well, just make sure everyone heard your words. ( talk loudly, means that you are confident )
3) Sat well in the interview room.
4) Get to know your teammates if you are in a group interview.
5) Read some interview experience of your seniors. It can avoid any interview-shock. (I got the JPA scholarship interview in my blog)

Last but not least, make a situation in your mind. For me, I thought about the word 'interview'. Just think. Interview with a star and interview for job/scholarship use the same word. In conclusion, it's the same interview. Since we are not the one who asking, we are the star who answer to the question.

That's all from me. Good luck in your interview. Remember to solat hajat first.

Petronas Young Star's day Invitation

Assalamualaikum and Hi. I just want to share my day yesterday.

I woke up at 12.30 afternoon and realise that I got a message saying that I qualified for Petronas Young Star's Day ( an interview for Petronas Overseas Sponsorship). I got online and know more about the details. The problem is it is held at Taylor's College in Selangor, hundreds of kilometers from my home. And I already got my JPA Scholarship. What should I do? Then, I read the previous year Young Star's day and it is so much tougher than I thought it would be. I think about the possibility getting the scholarship which is 30%, the money needed to spend for the trip and the course. It's decided. I would check the JPA Scholarship if I got the Korea one. If I did, I would let go of the scholarship.

Is it that easy? I guess so. Alhamdulillah.

Fate

Here I am, taking a big step in life. Being second and average is what I am and I'm proud of it. I can dream big but it is just a dream. What I get is great for someone else but I'm blind and tend to be greater than what I am. Now that I realise to accept my loving self, I see people who are less fortunate than I am. Realising this, I hope the best for people less great, greater and as great as I am.

Maybe I don't get to study A-level at KYUEM and go to UK but I know I get something better for myself. And I'm grateful to Allah SWT for that.

JPA Scholarship Interview

Hi everyone, I am going to share my experience for the JPA Scholarship Assessment. This year the JPA scholarship only offer engineering course in Korea, Japan, Germany and France. And this year, a student can only choose one between MARA, JPA and JPA-MARA. Why did I choose JPA even though I'm a bumiputera, easy, I missed the deadline for the other two. It's really devastated at first because my friends insisted that it's hard to get the scholarship as I had to compete with the non-bumiputera but then, I realised this is my destiny from Allah SWT and accepted it with open heart.

So, for the JPA Scholarship, I choose to futher my studies in Korea. Yes, it's because I love Kpop (SS501).

So, I get my invitation to the SAC (they didn't call it a interview) by checking into the website. Note down that you need to check the website yourself, not wait for a call or letter. My SAC is held at Kolej Komuniti Pasir Mas,  an hour away from my home. The SAC started at 10 am and the applicants are required to wear a white t-shirt, a track trouser and sport shoes(just for uniformity, don't worry they didn't told us to do any physical test).

So, I arrived 15 minute early. I register and was given a number card. We need to wear the number all the time. I got the lucky 27. There was about 20 applicants that session (there will be an evening session that day).

We made some little exercise to ease our nerves. Then, we were split into a team of 5 or 4. 2 teams were put in 1 group where the two group will go to either Bahasa Melayu or English session first.

My group went to the English session first at a classroom. And there was 2 interviewer. So, the group activity is we were given a topic. The topic I got is about 'Excellent Graduates'. The other team got 'Soft-Skill' topic. So we got about 20 minute to discuss. I may say that the interviewer didn't care about the time and waited us to finish. We wrote down our ideas on a 'mahjong' paper and present it. My tips is practice your ideas during the discussion. My presentation was short. There was only one question asked. And if your teammates choked, feel free to explain again to the interviewer but make it sound not too cruel (because you are clearly stealing your teammate's point). After the other team's presentation, the interviewer asked some people to do some exercise where they were asked to act like salesmen, trying to sell their stuff. Feel free to volunteer to try to do that too.

Next, my group went to the Bahasa Melayu session. The activity was the same as the English session. But this session was much more difficult where the time given for discussion is limited. And after the presentation, they asked your team tons of questions (even irrelevant one and their opinions always changed). My tips is the prepare yourself for any questions ( if you create a product or technology for your presentation, think out the cost and time needed to finish your imaginary product) and always be confident on your answer ( don't say "I think/Saya rasa", instead use "I am confident/Saya yakin" or "I would/Saya akan").

2 hours went by so fast. I went home, sleeping at the back of the car, knowing that I did the best as I could.

Since its already 2 months after the SAC, the result would be announced on 24 April at 5 pm. And,,,,, I got the scholarship. I don't know the details on which country did I get or more inportantly which course. The website told me to check e-penawaran on 6 May. I was hoping to get to do A-level at KYUEM. Insyaallah. Hope the best from me.

My SPM 2014 results

I have received my SPM result two months ago. Before getting to the main point which is how many A's did I get, let me tell you about the 3 March morning.
The result would not be announced until 10 am and I know my school would announced it by 11.30 am. So, I am determined to go to school as late as I can but my father had to go to his school and that's mean I need to go there as early as I can. My dad left me at school at 9.30. Yes, "left me". I was probably tthe 3rd earliest student arrived at school. I tried to call my friend to come here as early as possible.

"Fast fowarding"

The school hall was filled with people. By 10 am, I knew we can check our result by SMS. Some people wouldn't do so because they said it's a spoiler but I am not that some people. So, I sent it. About 10.20 am, I got my message. It viewed 8A+1A-. 8A+ seems unrealistic to me. I told my closest friend and told her to not anyone because it might be some kind of a mistake.

At about 11.30 am, the results had been announced. My school had 1 student getting 9A+ and 14 students getting straight As (9As). But our GCPA decreased. And we got a few people failing some subject which is very devastating. Finally, we got to know who got straight A by the names called to the stage. First, they gave an honour to the only student who got straight A+ but she wasn't at school as she recieve an award at Kuala Terengganu. My name was third to be called after a boy name. It's true that I got 8A+1A-. I believe that my name shocked some people as I am not the school target to get that much A+.

"Flashback" It was a parents meeting where the school revealed my SPM target based on my exam performance in Form 4 and the TOV exam. Guess what? I was expected to get about 4A 2B 3C which devastated me.

Now I proved them wrong. I was like the principal did not even know of my existent and now, I am the 3rd best student in our school.

Then, I remembered that this is all rezeki from Allah SWT. And I couldn't be thankful enough.

The rest of the afternoon went by me saying thank you to my teachers and me begging my friends to send me home.

That's all for now. For some of you who curious what did I get for A-, it's Physics.

New blog is here !

Greetings fellow reader if I had one.

About 4 years since I left blogging, I am back. Why? For the 4 years, I have been busy studying for PMR and SPM. Now that I have 1 more month to future my studies in university, I was hoping this blog can make me occupied from being homesick. Moreover, I have been stressing out lately and I relived my stress by reading blogs.

This blog is about:

1) My life as a growing 18 years old girl
2) My college life
3) Personal tips on life
4) Triple S (my life of being a SS501 fan and some other Kpop group )
5) Some other stuff

So, feel free to comment.

Good bye for now. New post coming right up.
